Metalmite purchased our land and begin a long tradition in Rochester, Michigan in 1970. Having already been in business for two years and operating out of a house, then a rental, the thriving business moved into downtown alas. We love this town and we have been so blessed to be a part of it in so many ways. We are always assisting our local police, fire, and DPW with their needs and many local businesses come to us for help as well. Our founder always believed we should “think global, but act local” We do just that when we purchase items or order food- our local vendors are our first option!
Forty-five years ago – almost to this exact day – my father took out a 3 x 5 card and wrote “Job #1” on the top left corner, thus officially opening Metalmite for business out of our home’s basement. We are proud to announce that, using that same numbering system, we just wrote “Job #50,000!” We are honored that we have been able to serve so many for so many years! We now offer a full line of over 30 CNC machining centers, consisting of 3,4,5, and 6 axis equipment. We have Wire EDM and CNC Grinding.
We run PC DMIS on our CMM for maximum accuracy and reporting on our inspections. Our two 5 axis Mori Seiki mills are considered the strongest in the industry and we have seen many benefits from them over the last few years. Our sub-spindle multi-axis lathes have shown us that parts can go from bar to finished part in a matter of minutes on just one machining center – saving time and money for our customers. As our crew and shop floor space increased, so did the diversity of our clientele. We now serve the Aerospace, Automotive, Military, Medical, and Tooling industries. See the vintage pictures here
